I notice that Amazon UK are now taking pre orders for some of these titles at £14.23 each with free delivery (UK) and release date 16th Sept. I can't find them by searching under blu-ray audio but found Ella and Louis searching by artist. I guess this is after the end of the FNAC exclusive.

I see that CDJapan has Supertramp, Breakfast In America Blu Ray available in 3-7 days. I wonder if its a miss print.

This Ella and Louis BD-A is absolutely great. You'll like it for sure.

I have the Ella & Louis BDA on pre-order with AmazonUK (plus the Nina Simone, Quincy Jones and Getz/Gilberto) (..oh and I've the Pierre Henry/Bejart on pre-order too but from Amazon.fr: same release date showing at the moment).
...Roll on Sept 16th!
(I would have happily bought these discs from FNAC btw, as I did the Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley & Supertramp BDA's but FNAC insist on using DHL for orders outside France and I'm seldom in to accept parcels during the day and I can't be bothered with the fuss of re-arranging delivery.. so I'll wait and get them delivered by regular mail for free in Sept. when they'll be waiting on the doormat for me when I get home, as opposed to a card from the DHL man saying "sorry you were out! blah blah..!").

I did not buy Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life as I already have it on SA-CD, as well as John Coltrane: A Love Supreme, Beethoven: Symphonies Nos. 5 & 7 - Kleiber, Jacques Brel: Les Marquises and Velvet Underground & Nico: The Velvet Underground & Nico.
My little story about Ella and Louis is I was about to buy the Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong: Ella and Louis and Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong: Ella And Louis Again SA-CDs... but taking a look at the prices, I finally bought the BD-A which contains both albums on one disc for 20€. I wish I didn't have these financial restraints as I still prefer SA-CD and I'd rather stick to it.
Same thing with Derek & The Dominos: Layla... I knew of the existence of the SA-CD after I bought the BD-A, but then again... prices are prohibitive.
There are some exceptions : Diana Krall: The Look of Love, for instance. The BD-A costs 20€, so I'll happily buy the SA-CD which is twice as cheap.

Another question on Grrr! (Rolling Stones) on BD-audio.
I have a combined music/movie set-up in a separate room, with only a projector connected, no other screen. Can I just use this disc easily without having to put the projector on for selecting audio format, track no. etc.?

The audio program playing by default on these Universal BD-As is the 96/24 PCM one. Unless you want to play another audio format, you don't need to turn the video on -- and I think you can even change the audio program just with the "audio select" button of your remote control, so you really don't need to put your projector on.

Yés. I can confirm that this is rare exception of DVD/BD-audio only you do not need video OSD switched on to play the disc without multiple blind commands from your remote. Also compared to some SHM-SACDs this one sounds great and the only downsize to Grrr! is that tracks are sonically different which is audible when you shuffle the tracks from late 70s with early 60s. Anyway I would welcome another greatest hits from other artisit for the same price 3hrs+ long. Good job this time.

Yes, rare exception compared to previous releases. But it seems like the BD-A's in the newly released batch from Universal behave in the same way -just put the disc in and it immediately plays the stereo PCM without any delay. This is of course the only way that makes sense if it's supposed to be an audio format. I only have the Supertramp and Stevie Wonder but in terms of ease-of-use I think it's like playing an SACD.
