Does anyone know whether there will be a Vol. 2? Thanks, Simon.

Not sure if my question contributed to stimulating the discussion about Neos on another thread, but in case there's interest I'll post the reply to my inquiry that I received from Wulf Weinmann of Neos:

'We will probably not go on with Messiaen. For me personally this is a pity, but people seem to expect “new music” from Neos – only. The next disc with Markus Bellheim, pianist, will be MADERNA vol.5 (piano and violin concerto) with release probably before summer.'

Should I point out in my reply that Maderna has been dead longer than Messiaen?

Maybe with "new music" he meant music that hasn't been recorded very often. After the Messiaen centenary in 2008 with it's many reissues it was probably not such a good time to continue another Messiaen piano cycle.

Yes, I expect you're right.

In reply to p. 1, yes it did. : )

Actually, I quite interested in any 20c French Piano works. Currently have all of the Ravel and Debussy; Messiaen is next on my list, but I'm also keen of 20c string quartets as well. Hence the other thread.

Pity there won't be a second volume.
