Spectacular!!! What a wonderful performance and recording of this beautiful music!!! I really don't have much to add to the excellent review above. I completely agree with him...except for one minor point... A photo of the Abbey Church of Muri & the performers of this glorious music can be found inside this SACD's case behind the disc.
Along with Claudio Monteverdi, the music of Giovanni Gabrieli & Heinrich Schutz is an important bridge connecting the renaissance and baroque eras. It is music of the highest quality and exquisite beauty. And for me, such music recorded in such an atmospheric location is the reason to have multichannel SACD. Highly recommended!!!
