The intro to this album says it all: "It's recording in the moment, alive, with nothing added or subtracted after it happens. So, in short, this record is a collection of one-song concerts". Indeed it is - just sit back and enjoy Eric Bibbs straight from the heart, simple but very REAL and genuine unedited performance on "Shingle By Shingle" or backed by Janne Peterssons "Pump organ" (!) and "The Deacons" on "Where the Green Grass Grows". As always, Opus 3 know how to record and produce for SACD, intelligently utilizing the rear surround channels for gentle acoustic information to recreate the "sparks" at the moment of recording. Even the Red Book CD layer sounds excellent on my CD Walkman. Both Eric Bibb and Opus 3 succeed. This is a very "likeable" album, to which I return over and over again.
