Performance: Sonics: |
I can't comment on the background of this recording, because I bought this SACD used, on a hunch that it was interesting, and I had never heard any Opus 3 titles before.
Well, I was not disappointed. If you are in the right mood, this is one of the most pleasant records to have, very quiet and refreshing, with a dreamlike sound stage. Although the music can seem like "new age" at first, I would compare it to a movie soundtrack. Both the 2CH and MCH versions are very good (I didn't realize there's a MCH version at first), and even the CD layer is of great quality.
Curiously, this is one of the SACDs I play most often. Go figure.

Sit back and relax when you listen to this disc. It's a bit New Age in style. Pleasant, but don't expect any goose-bumps. Sonics are very good indeed, but it may not be enough to make you come back to this disc often.

This has become THE disc I use to demo SACD to anyone foolish enough to inquire as to its ability. Great music - music that suits any time or mood. The sonics are superb, the playing fabulous. I can't give this disc a higher recommendation than to JUST GO BUY IT!!!!

I agree. very good disc. Not Rock & Roll. Acoustic music to dream with. Sounds very good!
