Special thanks to windhoek (Derek) and rammiepie (Ralph) for their recommendations on this all-acoustic set of Tiny Island (per The Rock Thread post# 1180). The SACD 4.0 multichannel is astonishing in the detail and clarity of instruments with excellent ambience in the rear channels! And the performance is superb!
In my estimation, a demonstration quality SACD. So 2 big Thumbs Up for Tiny Island (plus 1 thumb each for Derek and Ralph by bringing it to my attention).

Agreed. It's an album by Eric Bibb's backup band during his Opus 3 recordings. Just excellent sonically.
Highly recommended in Multichannel SACD!

Thanks Derek - a pleasure. Yes; this disc really is a demo album, and one that I can listen to on most occasions. Thanks to whoever it was that brought it to my attention or perhaps even recommended it - I really can't remember who was guilty of that.
I've only ever listened to it in 4.0, but the sonic detail and feel for the music is very impressive. I can almost feel as if I'm in that old stone church whilst the music is being recorded.
I could do with more albums like this, and although somewhat different musically, my Buena Vista Social Club DVD-A is similarly impressive - and thanks to Yoeri Seventh Taylor for bringing this disc to my attention years ago.
