Reviews: Bolero - Spanish Art Guitar Quartet

Performance:   Sonics:
A Spanish Art Guitar quartet ehm, from the Germany area playing 4 works from French Composers with a Spanish Title. At least some opposition for the LA group and they are quite competitive.Excellent playing and recording of all the pieces that will may you smile as you see how they get around some of the difficulties of transcribing tunes written for other instruments.Toe tapping to Bolero which did seem slightly overlong but deserved a round of applause for the sheer volume they produced to finish..
To me, only the Debussy work/interpretation really felt Spanish enough thought the disc is certainly staying in the collection.Slightly short measure at 56 minutes .Booklet type cover again.

Sonics:
I would have prefered a more multicanal version (it would have been really exciting to have one guitar by channel (Quartet). SACD have already a stereo version, so why not use the surround layer to bring people a new way of getting pleasure...

Nonetheless, it have a nice dynamic and Spanish guitar have this little something of melancholy and sadness...
