Can you call it music ? Don't know. Make your own idea listening to it on iTunes first... Could be the soundtrack of a Sci-fi or Horror movie... Anyway; the surround version uses all channels. And for a quite recent edition (2009), released in France in 2011, it's worth mentioning it...

If I agree the previous review concerning an artist that has a real vocal signature, I'm really upset with the multicanal version which is an extended stereo. I should have read your comment before I ordered this SACD. The sound is so weak that : - We have the impression there is no subwofer installed - Every mix part seems to be mp3 - Everything is confused - That the studio where they did the mix was not calibrated - I spent money for nothing

Like many membrane releases, the sound may be large, the surround is not around... I'm glad you started this post, I have the same problem. Out of the first 40 SACD I bought for the past six months, two or three are pure demos for me : DR CHESKY's 5.1 SURROUND SHOW [t=1715], DEPECHE MODE "Violator" [t=3709] and for fun because this is nature sounds and so well done "THUNDERSTORM a surround sound experience" [t=2486]. Concerning choral recordings, avoid THE GENTS : "In love..." I'm also looking for the same kind of surround mixes than you're looking for and this one is what I don't want.
