| This album is such a complex masterpiece it would be a sin NOT to have mixed it for 5.1 sound. I ordered my copy from Amazon Germany and was hesitant to do so because I also own the Japanese SHM-SACD as well. With that being said I am getting tired of repeated buying. But, like I stated, I just had to have it as multichannel. It is awesome. Super clear and bright. Highly recommended. Next up, Blood Sweat and Tears. (2nd album) 2nd purchase, 2nd SACD, this one mixed as quad.

On the Original Mix, the 80's sound is very spacious, full of reverb/echo, homogenous sounds from the times...almost 30D. The clarity is stunning. Never owning this title before, one thing I noticed in "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" is a chord riff that supports each line of the vocals...always thought it was keyboards but the detail of this download reveals it is a single-strum on guitar. Wow.
For the Stereo 2014 mix, it makes each instrument more discrete within the mix, less of the 80's sound but superior in detail. The bass is stronger, again with the bass guitar finding itself rather than blending in with all the other sounds. Not for those who grew up with the songs sounding a certain way, bu very nice nonetheless.
HF Pure Audio 5.1 mix. Very well and tastefully done. You are encompassed by a pool of sounds, primarily from a wide front stage but with tingles, taps, and riffs emanating from all around. Keeps with that 80's feel pretty well. Instruments/vocals are again more discrete than the original mix. It was very enjoyable as something "different" to experience, but I found myself growing tired of the 5.1 before the album was over and went back thinking the Original Stereo Mix was more enjoyable (to me).
