America: Homecoming        (4 of 4 found this review helpful)

I have the greatest hits LP "History" which I listened to recently after finally buying a turntable. I was very impressed with "America" as musicians, years later after having grown up with their music on AM radio and being familiar with hits. So when I saw this album was coming out on SACD 5.1, I ... more

Wow, this is it. I have the MOFI SACD in stereo and always wish for a multichannel version of this album. This certainly delivers. For me it was like listening to it for the first time. All the instruments are given a chance to step forward or backward if you will. This has moved into my show off ... more

I was hoping that his would really be something, but for the life of me I couldn't tell much difference between the Redbook CD and the SACD. Since both are stereo only recordings if anything the SACD is slightly more clear and cleaner sounding but it may even be my imagination. Would love to hear ... more

Currently unavailable as SACD multichannel, Santana's "Abraxsas" and the original 1971 London cast "Jesus Christ Superstar" I'd love to have both remastered in glorious hi-definition super audio and remixed in 5.1 channels. Can you imagine the 39 lashes taking turns in each speaker on Superstar? And the tinkling chimes in the opening song on ... more
