Zander is one of the greatest Mahler conductors of our time. Those who do not like his performances and recordings, should stick to their Mozart's and Rossini's and leave Mahler music to us big boys. This is the stuff dreams are made of. Truly realistic recording that trasports the listener in the recording venue, and a performance that would put a big smile even in Bach's serious face. Need I say more?

This is certainly a fantastic recording -sound wise- but only if heard in multichannel, where the soundstage spreads spectacularly in all directions. The stereo mix is very very good, but you must understand that this kind of music begs to be recorded and reproduced with a full 5.1 system. 5 stars ... more
