These performances by Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra are classic Strauss recordings. Szell was an apprentice to Strauss and Strauss highly approved of Szell’s performances of his works. I've owned most of contents of this SACD on LP, Cassette, and/or CD. The best performance here is the Concerto. These are classic performances by Fiedler and the Boston Pops. Yes, they are fast and there are a few glitches. But that does not in any way diminish the amount of fun they are clearly having.
