Mahler’s 6th starts off with a grim march and ends with a sudden blast of A minor accord accentuated by big drum. Plenty of Mahler 5 releases on SACD and RBCD are available and there are many good performances among them. Among them I count Haitink, Abbado, Chailly, Tilson Thomas, Bernstein and Boulez and this list is not complete for sure.
