Just finished listening to it. Unbelievable. Every fan of multichannel audio should have this SACD. The best two tracks in my honest opinion, in terms of how they were mixed, not in song preference, are Welcome To The Machine and Have a Cigar. I was so happy when I finally got my hands on a copy of this. It took three tries on ebay for a seller to send me the actual SACD as opposed to the DSD mastered RedbookCD. Both failures I knew instantly from feeling the jewel case in the packaging as opposed to the digipack.

This is probably my favorite Stones album. I've never heard the lyrics to Sway so clearly as on this SACD. 100% worth buying. I have to agree with analogue, play it loud. I have to agree with the previous reviews saying how the multichannel tracks are really L/C/R oriented. Don't get me wrong the surrounds are apparent just not aggressively mixed at all. You have to take this SACD for what it is. It is a SINGLE, so for people who say what did I just buy? Well, you knew it was a single, if you wanted more Stones than a single is obviously not the best option and your negative reviews and malcontent are spawned merely from your misconceptions ... more |
