I have read very mixed reviews of Pragadigital SACD releases and have been reluctant to try them. I couldn't pass this one up, however, because the Milstein/Fistoulari Brahms is one of my favorites and I have always liked his Goldmark very much as well. This is one of Klemperer's three great studio Mahler recordings, with Das Lied and the 9th--I also like the 4th, but find it a bit ponderous, and don't like the 7th, which practically defines what ponderous means in sound. This release is a reissue on SHM-SACD of the Universal SACD issued some seven or eight years ago and long out of print.
