I certainly agree with the two previous reviews. It is a rare SACD now and worth grabbing for that fact, but not the sonics. After listening to Layla several times in SACD, I thought I would give Desire another chance. I still find it far "less warm" than I would like, but like Eric Clapton's Layla, I need to be forgiving as they did miracles for some of Dylan's SACD remasters. This SACD is good, everything is smooth and well spaced. For the most part, it almost sounds like Bob after a year of vocal lessons. A bit to the contrary is the Dylan Cash duet, which sounds very much like Bob doing Bob, and Johnny doing Johnny, and they meet in the middle from time to time. Still ... more |

I can't agree with most of you more. This is the best sounding Layla that has ever been released, a MUST HAVE for fans of this recording. And a note to Mr. Mulhurn(?), Reptile is a DVD-A, but I don't think your Craig DVD player will even play the DVD-A files?
