Fine conducting from Mackerras. The Festive Overture comes through less succesfully, as it lacks buoyancy. The symphony is much better. Legendary performances, no doubt. Nice sound in the original recording, the processed 3 channel sounds even better. Piano tone is wonderfull, full-bodied and detailed. Nice orchestra perspective.

Good collection of Carl Maria von Weber overtures. Ths Staatskapelle of Dresden play magnificently and the conducting of Gustav Kuhn is fine.
Although no dates of original recordings are given, the sound is very fine and detailed. Good ambiande in surround mode. Recomended. |
