Another winner from Praga. Superb performances for superb music. Schulhoff excells in these chamber pieces. The music is quite intimate in inspiration, but very colourfull in rythm and timbres. Excellent sound and spatianl definition.

Chamber music also benefits from the SACD remasterings. Praga is a label that is releasing many very interesting and high quality discs. Not only sonically, but artistically as well. This one was a complete surprise. Of course, the Staatskapelle is a great orchestra, and Fabio Luisi a very good conductor. Kubelik is one of the truly great Mahler conductors. He focuses on the more lyric and descriptive aspects of the works, never over-emphasizing the theatrical and dramatic sections.
