I already own an SACD showcasing Martin Fröst playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and Quintet (with strings). Despite a nice sound and virtuoso level technique I did not like this recording because I found his approach to the music much too cold and technical.

I maybe a little harder on this recording than other reviewers maybe because this is one of my favorite pieces and I had (too?) high expectations. This is the SACD I have been searching for a long time! This is the best SACD in my collection (of about ~100). WOW, I do hope ATMA produce more of those!

OK First I own about >15 recordings of the Brahms Quintet including 7 by Karl Leister (my favorite is the one on the Japanese Camerata label). I have played both the trio/quintet in concerts (albeit a long time ago!) And I am not a frustrated ex-musician.
