A dissapointing SACD - I'm not too overly impressed with the performance and the sound quality is perhaps even worst (It just lacks in many ways - mostly in definition). This is THE man for Chopin - Maurizio Pollini is to Frederic Chopin what Alfred Brendel is to W.A. Mozart...It really just does not get any better!!! This is yet another must have SACD!!! This is really good - in fact its a great stereo SACD!!!!...Keep in mind this is a soundtrack of Amadeus so you are not getting complete pieces - just samples from some of Wolfgangs finest works...I have played this SACD quite often and it never seems to grow old...just top quality recordings from ... more |

The Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 is the real reason to buy this SACD...Great depth and understanding of this piece are fully evident under the direction of Mr. Munch....I think it quite nearly deserves a 5 star rating on its own....Unfortunatley the "La Mer" is not quite the performance - very good, ... more |
