Reviews: Amadeus - Soundtrack

This is a refreshing disk to have in the SACD catalog. I think the performances from Neville Marriner and the soloists are excellent. The sound is fuller than redbook, and almost beg you to turn it up. The two disks in the set go by so fast, it leaves you wanting for more. It was nice to hear early performances from Sam Ramey and John Tomlinson. A joy.

This is really good - in fact its a great stereo SACD!!!!...Keep in mind this is a soundtrack of Amadeus so you are not getting complete pieces - just samples from some of Wolfgangs finest works...I have played this SACD quite often and it never seems to grow old...just top quality recordings from start to finish...Multi-channel would have been a nice touch - but I don't find I miss it all that much after several plays...I personally think this is a must have..!! Highly reccomended!

A "must have" for lovers of Mozart, and specially for those who adore the movie. The sound quality is pristine, and it is great to hear entire movements from which sections are extracted for the film. I also greatly enjoy Marriner's tempi and interpretations of the scores. A delight throughout!
