This is tough... Unofrtunately I don't have my favorite performances on SACD, but on cd or lp: 2. Mehta (Vienna) 3. Horenstein 6. Sinopoli 7. Klemperer 9. By the way, are we sure that these are _new_ A/D conversions and not repackaging of an older digital version? Maybe 24/96 -> analog -> DSD as in "Esoteric"? ... more | |

I have the Krips Beethoven #1-8 on cd. I was a regular customer on a shop -unfortunately it closed down- and the owner gave them to me as a present, since the box set was missing the last cd with #9. I agree that there are not very exciting performances. ... more | |

The price for the reissue is just ridiculous. Music Matters, which to my opinion is currently doing an excellent job reissuing Blue Note LPs prices them at under 50 dollars. You can probably find a used LP copy of the recording on Classics for Pleasure for 5 euros... ... more | |

I believe that DSD downloads should be less expensive than the SACDs. With the SACD I get a booklet, a disk and a case, and it also covers the cost of manufacturing, shipping and retailing. ... more |
