I would check out the Sir Thomas Beecham version even though it isn't SACD (although I really want EMI to release it on SACD) or modern. Beecham first conducted it in 1915 with the Polovtsian Dances. It's my favorite classical recording besides Van Cliburn's Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1. In fact, I like Scheherazde better. So, roll over ... more | |

There is the holy grail of MFSL collectors - "Blues in Orbit" [t=775] This was the last SACD released by the original MFSL. I've seen it on eBay from $100 to $405. The thing is, you can buy a regular remastered CD of the album with bonus tracks for $6.99 on Amazon. I wouldn't mind paying $80 for it. I simply want a used one because I don't want ... more |
