Sting: Sacred Love        (1 of 1 found this review helpful)

Not one of Sting's best albums. The audio is heavily over-produced and has a bit of a gritty, digital-like texture to it. The surround mixing is of much better quality on the DVD-Audio of Brand New Day and the DTS CD (yet to be released on SACD or DVD-Audio) of Ten Summoner's Tales and Nothing Like ... more

Would it be safe to say with DVD-Audio and SA-CD (the former even more than the latter) basically reaching a dead-end in the audio market that Blu-Ray or HD-DVD is high resolution audio's last hope? With Blu-Ray and HD-DVD both supporting 8 discrete channels of 24 bit/96 kHz or 6 discrete channels of 24 bit/192 kHz Linear PCM (in either ... more
Blue Ray Disc could damage SACD & DVD-A

If you look at Blu-Ray's current (unratified) audio specifications there is NO mention of DSD at any resolution... at all. The last I heard it was a locked 27 Megabits/sec (up to) for an audio stream and 8 channel discrete 24/192 Linear PCM as the maximum output. Uncompressed. At the moment lossless compression (if used in Blu-Ray) means DTS-HD, ... more
