This is my first Wagner opera on CD and i was worried I might find it a bit much. I shouldn't have worried. By the time I was halfway through the first CD I was hooked. Its a bit like a musical version of 'Lord of the Rings' and l love that movie. Wagner's music sucks you in and once you are hooked ... more

Don't really understand this. Got my copy a couple of days ago and really like it. No problem with the voices which are really clear and the Mariinsky orchestra sounds great. Wonder if you are listening to the same recording? It is a live recording because - as you say - the recording was made during a concert which means live recording? ... more
