I'm not surprised at the increase in DSD mastering projects. The proliferation of DSD-capable DACs at reasonable pricing has brought about a renewed interest in DSD recordings for sure. Having recorded, mixed, and mastered almost exclusively in DSD since 1998, DSD is all we see on an everyday basis. Obviously it's our preferred recording format ... more | |

Why bother with "troublesome DSD?" I challenge anyone to find the maybe ONE note that was pitch-corrected at 192kHZ and edited into the 60 minutes of pure DSD program. The overall results show why I bother. Good tools are good tools, no matter the format. Best Regards, Michael Bishop ... more |
