For 51Surr, They do seem to get progressively heavier. If you don't like "In Absentia" because it rocks harder, you may not like the latter two. I would not put too much emphasis on the numbers. If it sounds good - that's all that matters. Have you listened to any of the (5) Porcupine Tree albums in 5.1? The DVD-Audio format was chosen because it is the format the Steven Wilson works with (Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion, solo efforts, etc.) He is the mix/master for the King Crimson 5.1 releases so that is THE format. I bet it haas nothing to do with Sony, Atlantic or anything else. Concur with above, his stuff in 5.1 is phenominal and rivals ... more
