This is judging on classical recordings but the RQR range by Pentatone which are all recordings that where originally made for release on Philips Quadrophonic lable (4 channel LP) are increadibly good. They had the sense to leave it with just the 4 channels instead of uping it to 5.1. These recordings easily are better than some of the new straight ... more | |

Why do you recon they are bogus acording to naxos website you are blocked from voting more than once in a week so they should be fairly reliable I would have thought. Does anyone know how the two rival formats are doing in terms of the numbers sold of each type? ... more | |

The .1 channel on certain discs is used as a height channel (ie. Telarc 1812) so is it getting used like that in this case or is it just for bass. I've heard but never tested with the 1812 (only have 5 speakers) that connecting it to a pair (both playing the same information in a mono configuration) of small dipole speakers helps to improve the ... more | |

Originally I meant to do with pricing but I think in retrospect that probably wouldn't work, mainly thinking of the £15 waste of money at MVC on the Meat Loaf Bat Outta Hell SACD. Is it me or doesn't the Sony Sampler that they distributed free in the UK with SACD players (I understand thats what happened with it - I paid a £1 on a carboot fair for mine the person who had it couldn't play it.) appear on this site.
