The music is a rather un-descript concert; good jazz but unfortunately nothing to write home about. The recording fails to shine; maybe it is the fault of the original masters, maybe the mixing in SACD. If you are looking for a classic jazz SACD to enjoy great music and sound look somewhere else.

Yes Claude, but we are talking about Miles Davis and one of his most popular albums, hence a product with substantial awareness and demand in the long run. I have no idea what could be the "mimimum re-print" size for Columbia (3.000, 5.000, 10.000?) but demand is still there if the prices are that high. Trying to find Porgy & Bess on SACD is a very good example of supply not meeting demand with prices ranging from 70 Euro up across different resellers in different countries.
