This has to be the essential recording of this work! I know there are hundreds but to me, this is the one. I do have a few earlier renderings of the clarinet concerto. The performance is perfect and the recording is excellent.

I listened to this work several times. I love Glass, "The Hours" has been a favorite of mine for a long time. This transcription to the Harp is hypnotic. In multichannel is a must have. Elizabeth Watts does the cantatas just perfect. I still like better the performance by Lorraine Hunt Lieberson better but the sound of this SACD is way superior to the CD by Lorraine. You can compare her rendition of the Cantata BWV 199 with the one by Lorraine. These cantatas are hard to perform. I ... more
