Mountain Worlds. Soul Flight - Brogli-Sacher        (8 of 11 found this review helpful)
  January 11, 2012

Ok, this one isn't easy to find and I had to order it from the Label's website from Germany. Shipping cost as much as the disc, but I'm very happy with this purchase. These are two of the early Twentieth Century's slush pump everything but the kitchen sink tone poems. Certainly there are ... more
Mozart: Piano Concertos Vol. 7 - Christian Zacharias        (3 of 4 found this review helpful)
  December 9, 2011

For those who may have earlier volumes, this is self recommending. It includes concertos #6, 13, and 16. Respighi: Roman Trilogy - Neschling        (8 of 10 found this review helpful)
  November 21, 2010

Wow! These pieces finally have a multi-channel recording that does justice to the works. These of course are sonic showpieces, even pops staples. I find the interpretation flawless (my benchmark for modern recordings was the Montreal disc from EMI.) The Reiner is of course classic. But you will lose ... more

The Rite of Spring from DG and Salonen
February 1, 2007
I can clear up a few details from above, but come to this thread a little late. I live in Los Angeles and have season tickets to the LA Philharmonic. I was in the hall when the Rite of Spring and other pieces were recorded (I can't remember if the disc says it, and it doesn't have much info, but these are "live" recordings taken from three days of ... more
