| Yeah, not sure whether there is a technical reason it has been left out or it's just that the BDA don't think there's a market for it. 3D wasn't part of the original Blu-ray specs either though so it's possible they'll add it at a later date. | I don't think that the new UHD Blu-ray players will necessarily be incompatible with existing 3D Blu-ray discs but there is no 4K 3D as part of the UHD Blu-ray spec. The only player I've seen announced so far, the Samsung UBD-K8500, will play 3D Blu-rays. ... more | |

| Well, isn't that sort of what they tried with SA-CD and DVD-Audio? Only neither really succeeded as a mainstream format. It's a real shame IMHO. If SA-CD had been promoted/adopted more effectively by the industry when it was launched then it could have replaced CDs. | Thanks Undertone. As you say, hopefully this will be added at some point. One other quick point re the "Recent Comments": I cannot see any logic to which ones appear.
