hello, it seems sony has serious problems releasing a flawless sacd. i remember the scriabin/stanev recording. i buyed the sacd and the sound only came from one side (see my review), then sony contacted me and made a complaint about my negative review... i sent them my sacd so that they can hear the flaw themself... some weeks later they send me ... more | |

i also dont know the mccreesh performance, sorry. of course the soloists are not up to international standard, i did not hear their name before that recording came to me. but they make their job more than good, and especially the bass is just great. in my opinion the jacobs soloists are also not up to international standard, i dont know any ... more | |

WOW!!! what a messiah. i bought this one to hear the dublin version and i dont want any other versions anymore. it is the one. first the LINN recording quality is really first class. clear sound, dynamic soundstage and in MC well balanced rear speakers. well it is my first linn SACD and i am impressed. the recording blows away my mind: the ... more | |

of course i listened to the sacd mc layer too. the discman plays the cd layer only, but this recording was done in dsd, so also the cd layer should be of better sound quality than a cd layer not recorded in dsd. i dont doubt the quality of this recording, its first class. but i just want to mention, that THIS sacd produces this sound-problem (alas ... more | |

i listened to it on my sony cd discman with sennheiser earphones in stereo and turned the soundvolume up to 93, the voices were distorted. with rustles i mean this sound you can hear when on a cd voices are distorted just as you hear it when you play a normal cd with f.e. dessay on a high volume. this sacd sounds on high volumes just as a normal ... more |
