Most of the Armstrong best recordings are from 20's, 30's and 40's...and it will be very difficult to do any sonic magic on them..since they were all recorded direct to the wax...anotherwords no magnatic reel to reel tape recorded music back in those days....even some of the early 50's music untill ... more |

All beaware..I agree 100% with the other reviewer....most of the 70's and even some of the 80's acoustic and electric jazz has the worst sonic quality.
50's and early to mid 60's are fine and after that starts to go down hill....specialy anything recorded under CTI in 70's and GRP in 80's stay away ... more |

I love Wess...I'm a Wess juncky...specialy this album I bought it in any version...20BIT...Japanese print...Gold..and now the SACD...none of them sound okay....it's very dissappointing to know that probelm could be the original analog source during the recoding...there are better sonic records ... more |
