This recording in mc strikes me as very odd. As mentioned the organ is behind you but the orchestra sounds incredibly distant in front of you, say a mile away. the balance seems much better as two channel or on the CD layer.

I'd be interested in other people's reaction to this recording in m/c. The main speaker Julian Glover seems to be balanced at the rear, a photograph in the extensive booklet seems to confirm this. But he seems at a very low level, much lower than the other speakers. My rear speakers are not the same make as my front ones, indeed the front ones are ... more
