This is a commemorative reissue, not a new SACD remaster (Reissue producer: Bruce Dickinson/Mastered By: Vic Anesini/SACD Engineer: Darcy Proper) as far I can tell, but if you have been thinking of paying OTT second hand prices you now have another option at a more reasonable price.
The previous SACD reviews on the earlier release have pretty much nailed what you can expect to hear in the sonic department. Some 10 years have gone by though and it is not up to the same standard as the DSD SHM SACDs of today. Come to that, it does not even sound like a flat DSD master from a tape source. So there is a little bit of a digital edge to the presentation and you don't 'hear' the tape.
One word of warning. The packaging is as a mini LP, which is huge by CD/SACD standards (think 18cm x 18cm)so storage could be an issue for some.

| The description that Acoustic Sounds gives is great. My experience after receiving this disc was complete satisfaction starting with the packaging. I like the large 7" sleeve holder. I got home a little tired and set this multi channel SACD with external outputs, no use of a 5.1 processor, just listened to it the way it came off the disc. I closed my eyes, sat in the middle of the 5 speakers and 1 sub and was completely in heaven. This edition/remaster is as good as any of the best multi channel SACD's that are available. Absolutely a great recording.

| Packaging is more or less 7" (45 size) for North American readers. It's nice that a 5.1 version is available as a hybrid SA-CD disc. One must wonder if all of the Japanese record companies are going to re-release their best titles as 7" paper sleeve CD's, per the P.F.M. titles from JVC (Victor), which are only SHM-CD Platinum titles, and not SA-CD's.
