This album is a favorite of mine.
The sonics are not reference material - and this is likely due to the recording and production - but this has to be the best digital version available.
I agree with the previous reviewer when comparing this SHM-SACD to the MFSL CD. The MFSL CD feels a bit more controlled (equalized?) and is maybe slightly less bright. But the SHM-SACD benefits from the increased resolution and there is much more air and presence.
This will be my go to version.

Steve Winwood: Arc of a Diver SHM SACD Stereo 2014
The last time I had this, was the original 1980 LP. Actually I was listening to Southern Rock and it was my wife who purchased. It was getting good radio play at the time.
This disc called a comeback for Winwood, written by him and three others. He also plays all instruments, impressive.
Stereo Sonics: I was very pleased with this 2014 reissue. Well balanced output between right/left and sub. Good clarity and depth with nice bass. Not an iconic recording but as good as you will hear. Great DR rating http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/70619
Packaging: Another little Japanese box that I love. Original mini LP sleeve is not glossy paper like others but a matte paper finish like the early rock Atlantic LP's. Original mini album sleeve with small liner notes and lyrics. The paper Japanese liner notes usually a mix of English and Japanese is only Japanese.
Glad I have it in my library.
