I had been meaning to add a review of this second Opus 3 sampler for some time. With the other Opus 3 sampler entitled Showcase, the curious listener has at his disposal two of the four or five most natural sounding SACDs released thus far.
While there is a generous admixture of musical styles on this one, Test CD 4 differs from Showcase in that it offers more classical music selections and fewer blues/jazz ones. It also offers multi-channel sound where the former is strictly stereo.
Some of the selections on this disk provide more room acoustics in the selected tracks. These are astonishing when heard on an audio system capable of superior clarity and transparency.
