My first review
I bought this one because I liked her solodebut. It was kind of a lucky guess. The first solo cd sounds also very good to me and I still play it once in a while to enjoy my soundsystem.
I was hoping for another disc that could give me that same experience again in the SACD format. Preverably with some nice songs on it as well. I must say the production of this disc is very good and the it sounds all very clean, crisp and modern. really 'in your face' and lots of cool sounding production effects however not really relevant musically for the songs. One remark, I find that her vocals sounds sometimes too sharp and the ss sounds are sometimes over-accentuated. A bit harsh.
The songs however are quite flat and do not really stand out. There are some nice melodies but it sounds too analytical and to manufactered. The lyrics, same thing. It seems that they spend a lot of effort, inventing catchy phrases that sound funny. Quite unnatural too me and not really like someone is really talking to you from the heart. If something is bothering you or you feel something that you think is worth to sharing it. Tell it to me in clear, plain english!
The multichannel mix I did not listen too, since I do not have a multi channel setup. I expect this one could be interesting. All the soundeffect scream for some creative mixing.
