The Police Sychronicity SHM SACD 2003 Stereo
Note: This disc that I just purchased from CDJapan, October 2014, is Serial # UIGY-9027
Has a good DR rating. http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/40226
This stereo only disc is everything I had hoped for, my favorite of The Police releases. This is a 1983 original release with a DSD transfer and reissue supervised by Bob Ludwig 2002.
Performance: Super great. I can agree with others that a few tracks are almost horrible but that is 2 or 3 of 11, so not bad. Most of the songs on the disc are in the Greatest Hits Disc.
Stereo Sonics: They say that you can tell a good recording by listening to the cymbals, do they resonate which is good or do they just go flat which is not good. Stewart Copeland gives you plenty of opportunity to hear excellent drumming and the superb transfer of this disc. Stereo balance is dead center with vocals and solos.
Packaging: Not the little Japanese box that I like but a real good cardboard, Quad Fold?, with extensive Japanese liner notes, English track notes and credits for reissue. Odd little fact is all songs have lyrics except Track 11, Murder By Numbers, which is omitted. I don't know if the original LP had the same omission.
Glad I have it, stunning performance and sonic quality.
