Performance:   Sonics:
Sita, a former member of K-Otic, steps out on her own in a very impressive solo effort. Think a younger Sheryl Crow with a much more pleasing voice. This disc continues the strong releases from Jive records. In particular, the multi-channel version is very immersive and really makes you feel that she is in the room with you. Although expensive for a US customer, it is well worth the money and there really are not to many other artists like Sita on SACD.

Performance:   Sonics:
Sita is pretty famous in the Netherlands. She was part of a Big Brother like show, take some semi talented kids and throw them into the original Big Brother house, give them singing and dancing lessons, and start hoping the 12 to 16 year olds like it. Part of the mix was the fact, locally famous and successful song writers would pitch in and write some songs.
And they did, the Dutch youth was loving it. Seven days a week they were watching “the talent” getting better and better marketing and success was assured.
Even when they were still in the house they were already performing at some major award shows. The kids went hysteric and even more success was assured.

After the show the finalist were contractually forced to join “a band” called K’Otic. Which was off course very successful. Sita (by far the most talented) was the first to leave the band to start a solo career. Her first album happy is quite a big success in countries like the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

German Amazon describes this album of a collection of one hit wonders. And that’s probably right. All the songs are potential hit singles. And even though I kind of hate to admit it, they are quite good. In fact if I didn’t hate her for her television background and the way her career was made I probably would have like this album a lot.

So if your into well produced pop music this is the album for you. If Sita was born in the US, she would have made it to the worldwide top spot in no time. She has more talent in her toos and Britney has in her whole body. And unlike Britney she doesn’t have to act like a prostitute to mask the fact she can’t sing to save her life. Because Sita really can sing.
As it is, she’s from the Netherlands and can make a good living selling records in northern European counties making a couple of million Euros a year. Which is enough, isn’t it?
