From start to finish this is one truly beautiful sacd with audiophile sound. The entire catalogue has been newly remastered from the original tapes by Mobile Fidelity. And with this series they have done an incredibly good job. Stellar tape to Dsd transfers.

If you are remotely experimental and desire trying new musical venues...then I would recommend this disc to you. It is drop dead gorgeous. To listen to this particlar album takes the listener far away into another world for a little while and the immersion on gets into the music wont be forgotten any time soon.

If I had to force myself to classify this album musically (and I hate to categorize) then I would say it's sort of like world music and depending on the individual track it might be flavoured with Arabic or African rhythms...sometimes a celtic feel. It's a hodge podge of flavours that dont spoil the cooking. But even this doesnt do justice or express the sheer pleasure this music and album gives the listener. There is so much mystery and tremendous drama to be had here. The music is so alive.

Everything sounds fantastic........the drums are deep with great impact. Voices are haunting in their clarity....great atmosphere. Some tracks have bird calls in them. I could go on and on. It total realism from a great recording.

If you are at all curious.........sample this on any site you can and give it a chance. You might be blown away as I was.

I LOVE this album. Musically,it`s wonderful. I`m still enjoying the entire record after countless listens, having owned it`s very good redbook for years, but this sacd is in a different league all together.It really takes on a 3d presentation on a two channel system.
This is one of the albums with the first two tracks in particular,I use when testing my system or evaluting new components. Sonically has soundstage, image, pace,frequency extremes,dynamics and instrument placement.
Get it while prices are still reasonable. One of Mofi`s better efforts.Highly recommeded!

I have to agree with the others that this disc is one of the best sounding and is clearly one of the "show-off SACD's" now in my collection. First of all the music is hypnotic and hugely addictive with some crazy instrumentation and killer songs. I have a few of the Dead Can Dance albums (sadly yet not on SACD) in my collection and just recently picked up a Lisa Gerrard solo album too so I am familiar with the DCD approach to music.
This album is a real eclectic mix of Eastern and Middle East soundscapes told thru the haunting voice of Brendan Perry and the versatile voice of Lisa Gerrard.

Each album plays like a movie soundtrack with carefully etched songs and a sound quality that other albums should aspire to reach (not unlike some of the Steely Dan recordings). "Into The Labyrinth" is a gem of an album and as the others have reviewed the sound quality is A+.
