Why this sacd shows dsd is truly special.
First this was recorded on magnetic tape and the sound and recording is flawless and beautiful. Then a pure dsd transfer was done of the tape. This is the way it should be regarding the making of a true sacd. No cheating at all.

The sound quality of this sacd is remarkable. It is warm, life like, realistic and very analogue. Hence the perfect score.

Now for the type of music. I heard the term "world music" and wondered exactly what that is. For our purposes on this sacd it goes as follows: left speaker Simpson plays acoustic guitar.it's a little folky.....a tad bluesy.... beautifully played. On the right speaker Wu Man plays the pipa which is a stringed instrument played in China. So between the two of them there is some wonderful interplay. This happens track after track.

Sometimes it seems that Simpson plays by himself for a while until Wu man decides when to interject and blend in. At other times it seems as if Simpson might overwhelm Wu man but she holds her own. They play off of one another in a subtle but spontaneous way. It's charming and beautiful.
This is a very relaxing sacd but not without passion.

Thank you Waterlily for such an outstanding audiophile sacd and for not cheating when it comes to using a special new technology.
