If you like the 4 seasons this is an alternative version you must have It is totally different than the other reference version from, Il Giardino Armonico, or Fabio Biondi or Carmignola This is a chamber version with only 6 players 4 Violins (each of them plays as soloist in one of the 4 concertos) one viola and a harpsichord In certain parts, one of the violin is replace by a “shoulder Violoncello”, who is a rebuild of an instrument use occasionally at the baroque period The booklet will explain you all the details The interpretation is nice and vivid and the sound is really good, especially in stereo SACD (I didn’t try the multi-channel one) So in summary an excellent version to have as a complementary one, next to a more classical interpretation They are also as complement a Violoncello concerto played with this famous rebuilt Shoulder Violoncello and the Folia sonata, both are very good too Buy it and enjoy
