Well by posting this review you can tell I chicken out of buying the straight quartet version of op131.This beefed up version (by four times) of the work has plus and minus and should be judged on this basis.The added weight to the sound has its benefits and I think it may be easier to absorb as newcomer.Occasionally in the beggining it opens up and I wondered about this Beethoven sound world and for some strange reason was reminded on that perculiar 10th symphony reconstruction.If someone can explain the reason why, thanks.Towards the end it seems to sound more like a string quartet just grossed up.Sonic wise its a good PCM quality.Moving to the Gross fugue is a different experience as its a less approachable work and I think is less succesful being beefed up than op131.Interesting and at very a reasonable price.
