LBM and friends would be an alternative title.First off recording quality is supurb and their is Long List of helpers out on these tracks which are re recordings and slightly different (faster/slower from the other (Original) recordings. These range from Emmylou Harris (wish she had any sacd out) Taj Mahal Melissa Etheridge Joe McBride Lucky Dube Nateli Merchant Zap Mama all of whom may not be household names but add a small amount of flavouring. Not as much as Paul Simon did. Some tracks occaionally outstay their welcome. How Long ironically is one.
The title track played 12th seems to be sagging but track 7 Mbube (Taj Mahal) a Wimoweh soundalike raises the level.Track 9 lAfrica is more what this disc is about rather than an out and out "world" disc.Personally I would have preferred a couple more of the mixture tracks ie the Dolly Parton one and Swing Low sweet Chariot. My disc arrived in a standard cd case/Heads Up lable. If you want to demonstrate the difference between CD and SACD this would be ideal but not a replacement for their big selling excellent sounding disc with a lot of the same titles. ..An hours listening might be a tad much for some though.Last track sees Shabalala going solo .Excellent booklet and photos.
