Performance:   Sonics:
Can were very much avant-garge musical pioneers who were "unclassifiable" really. Can were and are a band that require active listening and at times can be challenging for new audience members (or as they say). But beneath the surface of the early Can albums are pure genius and creativity that are just waiting to be discovered. Soon Over Babluma was the 6th album released by Can and the first not to feature the warped vox of Damo Suzuki with Karoli and Schmidt picking up these responsibilities.

Musically this album is beautifully constructed yet very obscure and demanding of ones attentions as you listen. I think this album really grooves along with and gets into some pretty crazy stuff along the way. Michael Karoli's guitar and violin work really shine on this album as does the rhythm section of Czukay's bass and Liebezeit's drums. Musically this is jazz meets fusion meets psychedelia!

Spoon Records released all the Can albums beautifully remastered in both Hybrid and standard Redbook CD formats so dont get this mixed up if ordering. It must say Remastered Edition (This CD is also playable with SACD players) or it ain't the SACD hybrid release! I had all the Can albums on CD and found all the SACD versions just far superior!
