This is a beautiful sounding SACD. The tones are clear and euphonic with nice pacing and timbre.

However, the label says "Ambient" so be warned - this is beautiful background music and little more. I find it difficult to concentrate on as it does not seem to bear mental focus. The variations can be difficult to follow and sometimes completely lose me.

In other words, I find it an example of "audiophile" recordings - great sound and boring musical content.

Still, I like having it on when I puttering or otherwise occupied as background.

I ordered it directly from the label house in Connecticut and was surprised at the speed of delivery to me in California - three days.

This is the second acoustic guitar jazz sacd that I purchased featuring the excellent guitar playing of Mr. Bertoncini. There is a slight difference in feel to this album than in "Body and Soul"..........his previous sacd.

This album does not seem to be as melodious but more introspective in feel. The harmonic structure is different as well. I personally prefer melody and harmony. His playing, however is pretty amazing though and I appreciate his skill and gift for improvisation.

The recording on this sacd is fantastic. Actually its incredible. The deep notes of the gutiar, when they are struck are rendered extrememly powerful. The listener feels very close to Bertroncini's playing on this sacd. His presence is undeniable. The feeling of realness is extremely palpable. You feel it not only in your ears but in your gut.

Highly recommended if you love acoustic jazz guitar playing.
Mr. Bertioncini is a fantastic guitarist and Ambient records make great sacd's.

Fantastic playing and recording.
