If you enjoy rock music at all, and you enjoy excellent sound, you just better buy this SACD. Superb remastering job, with clear, open sound. This has been one of my favorites over the years, and this incarnation is certainly the best. The music is classic Kinks, with hillbilly twang filtered through the thoroughly British sensibility and barely contained insanity of Ray Davies. Even if you haven't heard this music before, it will sound somewhat familiar, with classic rock and rockabilly beats. The lyrics are inspired, addressing universal issues with sardonic wit. Every aspect of the performance is captured in beautifully balanced sound. This is definitely on a par with "Let It Bleed" in terms of musical value and sonic impact. Even the two bonus songs, which on many reissues of older material are lamentably lame and usually a distraction, fill out the disc nicely in terms of content, style, and musical value.
