This album covers the area between smooth, very smooth female vocal jazz and popular music like Everything But The Girl, Tok Tok Tok and Sade. Couple of songs of a bit hotter jazz are not so remarkable.

Multichannel mix exceeded all the expectations I had based on sound samples provided at jpc.de. Mainly designed as 'on the scene' mix (the listener is surrounded by instruments), it has a nice touch of spacious sound effects. For example, bass drum sound is delayed in rear speakers so much that it sounds like bouncing. Everything is done with a good taste and well measured, so these effects don't provoke sickness (as they could). The only case of slight annoyance came with the last piece where left hand piano sounds from front speakers while right hand from rear ones. At this point, the location of left hand is slightly blurred, compared to other instruments and the right hand. Still, to me it sounds a bit better than similar effect in Chick Corea's "Rendezvous in New York".

In overall, it's very pleasant listening. It makes you feel that the investment in surround system has not been wasted.
